Prepare the Crust
-
In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, and eggs.
-
Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until dough forms.
-
Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray (or spray the pan directly). Foil helps with easy removal but is optional.
-
Pat dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Set aside.
Prepare the Filling
-
In another large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
-
Add eggs, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar; mix until fully combined and smooth, with no lumps.
Assemble and Bake
-
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust.
-
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
-
The bars should remain slightly gooey in the center, so judge doneness by golden color rather than a toothpick test.
Cool and Serve
-
Let the bars cool completely before cutting to allow the top to set properly.
Notes
-
Bars are delicious warm but cutting right away may affect appearance. For best presentation, cool fully, but feel free to enjoy warm!
