Butterfinger Balls

 

Step One

In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and crushed Butterfinger candy bars. Mix until well combined.

Step Two

Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.

Place the balls on a tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.

Step Three

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips with the optional shortening (if using) until smooth. You can use a microwave or double boiler.

Step Four

Remove the chilled balls from the fridge.

Dip each ball into the melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, coating completely.

Step Five

Place the dipped balls on wax paper or parchment paper.

Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Crush candy bars finely for a uniform texture.

Chill the formed balls to make dipping easier.

Add peanut butter to the mixture for extra flavor.
